Heated debates were held on Twitter between blockchain representatives including Adam Beck, Nik Bougalis and the Ripple Chief technology officer David Schwartz who claimed he sold off all his BTC.

Bitcoin is nothing. Crypto is everything

It all started with the discussions initiated by Nik Bougalis, where Ripple CEO claimed he shared the Adam Beck notion of BTC.

According to his point, BTC represents a decentralized digital product so this is rather a store of value than a payment system.

Although, as many believe, the initial concept of Bitcoin was creating an alternative payment system.

As the discussion continued, various representatives of the crypto industry spoke about Satoshi Nakamoto, while Schwartz underlined he had millions of dollars in BTC but he had lost the private access keys.

And this is where Beck, the head of Blockcstream, asked Schwartz whether he supported BTC or not,

“So you neither support BTC, and neither convert XRP into it?”

“No. Over the recent years I have been selling out Bitcoins”, said Schwartz.

So the response leaves no space for interpretation.

But, on the other hand, David noted he was still optimistic regarding BTC, although he considered it to be too risky.

This is why he would decided to sell off all of his Bitcoins.

If this is true, Schwartz would have to sell his XRP assets since each month 1 billion of XRP is being unlocked and becomes ready for selling (tomorrow there will be the next 9-digit transaction).

According to some researchers, this is what prevent the coin’s price from rising above some certain level as the market is actually flooded with XRP.
