Chief executive officer of Blockchair researching startup Nikita Zhavoronkov predicts that BTC may lose its status of the leading crypto asset

Is ETH a threat to BTC?

In his new Twitter posts Blockchair CEO explains why he considers that Bitcoin dominance will drop soon.

He allocated a number of technological factors which will keep BTC in long term prospective.

The CEO underlines that confidentiality is not a strong suit of BTC since its network enables firms that analyze blockchains to track users’ activity. Those users who aim to preserve their confidentiality may appeal to such altcoins as Monero, Dash and Zcash.

Zhavoronkov also says that Bitcoin scalability is another drawback of its network. Lightning Network, a second level solution designed for making BTC transactions faster and cost-effective, is fundamentally flawed. So the expert claims that Ethereum with its Proof of Stake protocol is a coin that may replace BTC.
