Lawyers accepting crypto payments are not behaving unethically
The association has adopted cryptocurrencies as a mean of payment for the services in case lawyers take fair remuneration and consider market volatility.
According to the statement recently published by Washington DC Bar Association, accepting crypto payments for law services does not violate ethical standards regulating professional conduct.
With the document, entitled “Professional ethics opinion 378: accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment for legal fees“, D.C. becomes the fourth US state that gives a clear image of using crypto in payments.
Besides, the document concludes that main issues associated with using crypto assets for paying for legal services can be solved by fair and sensible agreements between lawyers and clients.
